Clare, who has been supported by Carr Gomm for ten years at the Muirhouse service in Edinburgh. Last summer Clare went on holiday to Center Parcs at Whinfell Forest in the Lake District, supported by her Key Workers, Lucy and Celina. Clare went horse-riding, boating, swimming, to see a show and on a horse drawn carriage as well as relaxing on the terrace in the sunshine. This was the first holiday she had been on for many years and she really enjoyed it!
“At first everyone was a little anxious as to whether Clare would feel comfortable in new surroundings, but Clare proved us all wrong and relaxed very quickly in her holiday chalet. On the last day of the holiday when we were supporting Clare to pack her bag, Clare made it very clear that she wanted to stay longer by unpacking as fast as we could re-pack!”
The trip away was a great success and her Key Workers are already starting to support her plan her next holiday!
