On the 16th of June, 2023, at RBS Gogarburn, over 300 people came together to celebrate Carr Gomm’s 25th birthday!

 

Staff, people supported, friends and family all attended the wonderful event, which features a range of exciting and amusing activities, including Therapets, live performances and face painting.

It was a stunningly gorgeous day in Edinburgh, with the bright sun shining down on the Festival in 20C heat, which gave the day a perfect festival vibe.

It was an incredible day to be remembered by all!

Main Stage & Carr Gomm’s Got Talent

The Main Stage was hosted by the incredible Edward Reid! His infectious energy and incredible performances got everyone on their feet and ready to party from the minute he took the stage.

But Edward was not the only talented one at the festival! He was on hand to host Carr Gomm’s Got Talent! It saw staff, people supported, and friends and family take the stage to show off their skills. From Elvis impressions to poetry reading, there was a lot of amazing talent on show.

Lucy Wren, CEO and Greg MacKay, Board Member, also took the stage to welcome and thank everyone for coming. Greg also cut the fabulous Carr Gomm birthday cake.

The main stage was rounded off by a great performance from Bleeker.

The Main Stage gave people a chance to come together and enjoy the music and performances and celebrate Carr Gomm’s 25th birthday in style.

Therapets

At the Festival, we were joined by 7 dogs and volunteers from Therapets – Canine Concern Scotland Trust.

Therapet’s Andrew, Annie, Boss, Hamish, Jett and Ruby provided a calm oasis for those participating in the PAWS sessions. 

The people who attended the sessions hugely enjoyed having the chance to play with the pups, and the dogs equally loved the attention!

A massive THANK YOU to all the Canine Concern Scotland Trust volunteers who kindly brought their dogs and helped organise the sessions. It was a highlight of the day for many.

Entertainment

The Festival hosted a variety of entertainment to suit everyone’s likes!

The silent disco was available in the marquee for people to listen to 3-channels of their favourite tunes! It even featured a Carr Gomm playlist, made from choices from those in attendance. From Elvis, Harry Styles, Queen and Baby Shark, it was an eclectic mix that anyone could enjoy.

There were several entertainers roaming the event, providing fun and laughs. The Juggler showed people how to perform impressive tricks while the Magician was on hand to surprise and awe in equal measures, and the Carcacturist offered hilarious and stunning drawings.

Stina Sparkles dazzles guests with her stunning face-painting and glitter skills, providing a range of different artworks from saltires to Spiderman to butterflies.

Our Photobooth allowed guests to get creative and strike a pose! Lots of hilarious, glamorous and beautiful photos were printed and taken home as a keep sake.

Finally, a Quiet Space was available for people to decompress and reflect on the day.

The entertainment options available at the festival ensured no dull moments and many memories to be created!

Carnival Games

Carnival games and accessories were out in the beautiful sunshine for people to play.

There were some friendly games of Connect 4 on the grass, and people try to hold their nerve with a giant buzzer circuit. 

Carnival games like ‘Throw the ball in a bucket’ and ‘Coconut Shy’ gave people a chance to test their skills and even win a prize!
