Support in Edinburgh & The Lothians

Carr Gomm delivers a range of Care at Home visiting services throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians, to enable people to keep safe and well within their own homes. We deliver over 2150 hours of Care at Home support.
Our support services are adaptable, providing either 1:1 or 2:1 support. We can support from one hour to 24/7, including waking nights and sleepover support.
Our visiting services provide direct support to vulnerable adults within their own homes in their own communities, supporting community engagement, meaningful relationships, and a sense of purpose, e.g., college courses, activity groups, and pursuing their creative and social interests. We uphold a person-centered approach, ensuring support is accessible to anyone in need. Our overarching goal is to facilitate individuals in maintaining their independence and making choices that align with their preferences.
We offer support to a diverse range of individuals with varying needs, including Mental Health, Dementia, Huntington’s disease, acquired brain injuries, end-of-life care, as well as physical and learning disabilities. Our support services are underpinned by our philosophy and values, which embrace a person-centred approach.
We also have teams dedicated to supporting people on the Autistic spectrum, including supporting young people transitioning to adult services. Additionally, we offer respite care within the individual’s home, offering families the chance to recharge or engage in other activities of interest.

We support differently. Can you? As part of our support team, you will be a valuable asset in the day-to-day support of people throughout Edinburgh & The Lothians. The role varies daily to assist people to live their life how they choose and supports people in their own homes and communities. Social care can be challenging but is a hugely rewarding career as you are making a real difference in people’s lives. You don’t need to have experience, as full training is provided, but the right values and motivation are essential; honesty, respect, empathy, and compassion are key skills that are required in people who join our teams.

Carr Gomm is a Living Wage employer, paying £24,051 – £25,494 (pro rata) per annum, a minimum of £0.86 p/h higher than the Scottish National Minimum Wage.
Unlike other providers, we provide additional benefits to all our staff. On top of your salary, you can earn time and a half for any overtime over 37.5 hours worked per week and paid travel time, where you can claim 45p per mile for work-related mileage over and above the normal commute to work.

Men in Sheds
Our Men in Sheds project is a dedicated, friendly, and welcoming meeting place where local men experiencing loneliness and isolation come together to share skills, build self-esteem, and forge friendships.
Midlothian Music Group
The Midlothian Music Group is a safe space for self-expression, where people we support are able to come together and sing, perform, dance, play instruments and – of course- have fun.
Community Link Working
Community Link Working offers non-clinical one-to-one support to people in contact with GP practices.
