Housing Support Stories: Graham’s Journey to His Own Home

Key in an open door, there is greenery in the background.

At Carr Gomm, we understand the importance of lending a helping hand when it’s needed most. Here’s how our Oban Housing Support Service made a difference in Graham’s life.

Facing homelessness, Graham was connected with our Housing Support service. With the support of Susan (Service Manager) and Debbie (Support Practitioner), Graham successfully secured his own tenancy.

In a heartfelt email, Graham expressed his gratitude, saying:

“Just thought I’d send a wee message and say thanks again to you and Debbie for all your help. I will honestly never forget it. You might think you’re only doing your job but you were the only people there for me in probably the worst time of my life and got me out a hole I never would have managed on my own. Things are starting to fall into place now and I’m starting to feel like my old self a bit more now and thinking positive…My wee flat and garden are starting to come along nicely aswell and its starting to feel like home.”

Graham’s story wouldn’t be complete without a mention of his faithful companion Charlie!

With his seal of approval, Graham and Charlie have found comfort and security in their new home, exploring the beauty of Argyll and enjoying their long walks together.

“Charlie loves it up here I think he can sense I’m not as stressed and anxious all the time now and he’s getting plenty long walks.”.
