What do you do?
My role is as a service manager for our Stirling team in Forth Valley. Day-to-day, I:
- ensure people supported receive the best quality of care.
- support and manage staff to deliver high quality support.
- tackle isolation and loneliness by developing different groups and activities for people supported.
- grow the Stirling service, progress staff, and help people achieve their hopes and dreams for tomorrow.
What do you like most about your job?
I truly feel humble, grateful and happy to have been a part of so many people’s lives. I enjoy being able to see people live a life of their choosing and be the person they always wanted to be – despite of the challenges they may face. I have also been blessed with a brilliant, creative and supportive team who I work alongside.
What surprised you about working here?
Gosh there have been many surprises along the way. However, I never anticipated when I first set out on this journey that I could be so immersed in my role. What would you say to someone considering a career in Carr Gomm?
I would never work anywhere else! I feel the organisation has such a lovely, welcoming, family orientated vibe, and if you want to develop further, opportunities are there, people listen.
