Daniel is celebrating his 15th anniversary with Carr Gomm.
Our staff are the driving force behind Carr Gomm, and their commitment to providing the best care possible enables us to support over 4,000 people. We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated and loyal staff who have stayed with us throughout the years.
One of those incredible staff members is Daniel. He joined Carr Gomm as an Admin Assistant on a temporary contract in 2008 before taking on a full-time position shortly after.
Read Daniel’s thoughts on his time with Carr Gomm below.
“Hi, I’m Daniel,
I graduated with a degree in Business Management back in 2008. Perfect timing for the banks to crash and for my intended graduate role to be withdrawn before I could start in a bank.
Seeking employment during a recession. I approached an agency which put me in touch with Carr Gomm. I happily stepped in as an administration assistant to cover maternity leave for 3-months in Carr Gomm’s Local Edinburgh Office based at the time in Timberbush in Leith.
Being exposed to the wonderful support that our Edinburgh Visiting team provided, the staff’s philosophy and values, along with meeting many of those that we supported, drew me in.
Thankful to be part of this wonderful, person-centred organisation, I applied for a full-time position. Fifteen years later, I am still here, also thankful that I potentially dodged less meaningful employment in a cubicle within a financial institution somewhere.
I have had many roles within Carr Gomm over the years. Each one has had a common goal, and that is to support individuals to be the best they can be via interdependence and person-centred support. I work for an organisation that I am proud to be a part of – not many people can say that about their job.
I am currently based In the London Road Office, where you will find me at the front desk welcoming those who visit the office. Come and say hello if you ever find yourself visiting one day.”
